Beer Reads

Finally, a beautiful weekend! I spent Saturday (Earth Day) at Howard Community College for Greenfest. Beerwise, I visited a new brewery, Crooked Crab Brewery in Odenton plus Jailbreak’s new restaurant in Laurel. Both were outstanding finds!  On this beautiful Sunday curl up with your favorite media device and read a few articles about some beer happenings.

Fellow Oakland Mills resident and owner of  Crooked Crab Brewing served me a Haze for Days (delicious). Just 24 minutes from Columbia, Crooked Crab has ales worth the journey.  As an added bonus, MD Comptroller Peter Franchot stopped by and talked about Reform on Tap Act of 2018.

Jailbreak’s beer is always delicious but now you can have food with your favorite Jailbreak beverage in their new restaurant. I had fish tacos and a Funk Sway – very yummy. Also, if you love garlic like me order the garlic fries.

Vinepair challenges the notion that cheese is best with wine in WE ASKED 10 BREWERS: WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CHEESE TO PAIR WITH YOUR BEER?

I have been saying this for years – BASEBALL (AND AMERICA) DESERVE BETTER CRAFT BEER.

Please note: I am not encouraging drinking during your lunch break but How To Drink A Lunch Beer Like An Adult is too funny not to read.

I’m not sure what I think of This Brewery Ages Beer Underwater in the Adriatic Sea. Aging a beer underwater for at least 6 months seems an unnecessary expense and I’m skeptical it would taste that much better. However, if I see one of these rare beers, I’ll give it a try.

It looks like Maryland is not the only state struggling with beer legislation. Louisiana Breweries Take Self-Distro to the Capitol on “A Strong Moral Case” reports on Louisiana’s beer laws.

Cheers!
