Beer Reads

March 16, 2019

While winter lingers, we are in the midst of Lent and Saint Patrick’s Day weekend. Surprisingly, I’ve discovered a few craft beer related articles covering these two contrasting events plus a few other gems. Enjoy.

The Manual, The Best American Irish-Style Stout Beers to Sip on St. Patrick’s Day. This list of US stouts are alternatives to premier Irish stout, Guinness. I’m intrigued with one from nearby Baltimore, Duclaw’s Celtic Fury.

VinePair, Unicorn-Themed Beer Brewed With Fruity Pebbles and Glitter Sounds Magical. Sticking with Duclaw, their unicorn-themed sour beer with fruity pebbles has an appropriate name: Sour Me Unicorn Farts. I think the name says it all.

Catholic News Agency, These 17th century monks did a beer fast for Lent. I’ve seen dozens of articles noting beer fasts for lent. Having the source from the Catholic News Agency gives it some real authority, IMHO.

Uncappd – FNP Podcast, Peter Franchot. Chris Sands of Uncappd interviews Maryland State’s Comptroller. Mr. Franchot discusses the upcoming Maryland State legislature vote to strip Franchot of his alcohol regulating duties.

Cheers!
