Frisco and Beer Reads

Some of our Wednesday night regulars trickled into Frisco Tap House for Bell’s Pint Night. I tried Bell’s Hopsoulution Ale based on DBear’s recommendation. It’s very similar to the wonderful Two Hearted IPA, but with a bit more alcohol.

We were graced with two beer connoisseurs that evening. Frisco manager and overall beer fountain of knowledge, Keith, stopped by our table for a long chat. Later, we had another interesting conversation with craft beer representative for Bond Distribution, “Afro Steve”. Last year, I spent the day on a ride-along with Stephen to experience the distribution world.  We agreed to do that again in the near future. We also talked about my neighborhood package store, Allview Liquors, and store manager Justin Jarvis; Bond delivers beer to Allview while I am a regular customer.

I wrapped up the night at Frisco with a Union Craft Brewing treasure: Old Pro on cask. This deliciously sour gose ale is fruity and mellow with a hint of salt. It is one of my favorites, particularly the cask version.

This Saturday promises to be a beautiful one, sunny and in the 70s. I’ll plan to be outside and in the garden. When you find a quiet moment today, I’ve found a few gems to read about the beer world. Enjoy.

Mark your calendars. Union Craft Brewery will be opening their new taproom on July 28th. They are selling tickets for this grand opening/6th-year anniversary celebration for $35-$100.

I’m joining my friends for this year’s Maryland Craft Beer Festival in Frederick, MD on May 12th. Here are Uproxx’s 10 Best Beer Festivals.

If you have ever wondered about beer bottle labels, don’t miss the Daily Beast’s Meet the Beer Bottle Dictator. Thanks to alert readers, Alex & Odin, for this gem.

According to Brewed In Maryland, Craft Beer (and spent grain) is Saving Maryland- and the planet!

Cheers!
