Beer Reads and Losing

Columbia, MD October 27, 2018

The carrot and the stick is working well. Last week, I could not drink beer (the stick) due to my commitment to the beer diet —I had gained a pound the previous week. Tonight, I will enjoy a delicious ale (the carrot) to celebrate my 2 lbs. weight loss.

On this Saturday, find some quiet time, curl up in your favorite chair with your favorite beverage and catch up on the craft beer world. Enjoy…

I have never met Carol Stoudt but I’ve been on Stoudt’s brewery tour in Adamstown, PA. Her husband, Ed, led us on a fascinating tour; someone called him the Willy Wonka of beer and I agree. Carol Stoudt, ‘The Mother of Craft Beer’ Knows Best.

Perhaps I’ll try Beer-Soaked Grilled Cheese from CraftBeer.com after completion of my beer diet. It sounds yummy. If anyone tries it, please share in the comments.

VinePair asked 11 brewers what makes a good taproom. For me, having a great conversation with a knowledgeable employee of the brewery makes for a standout taproom. Also, a brewery that is active in supporting their community leads to a vibrant, bustling taproom.

Brewed in Maryland visited Patuxent Brewing. Good luck to this new southern Maryland brewery!

Cheers!
