On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, friends and I walked less than a mile to Sapwood Cellars for their Grand Opening. Wow!

The long-awaited opening of a brewery within walking distance of my neighborhood is very exciting! Imagine, two renowned home brewers and beer authors running an IPA/sour oriented brewery 15 minutes from my home; it’s both wonderful and dangerous at the same time. The Sapwood Cellars co-founders are Michael Tonsmeire (the sour guy & The Mad Fermentationist) and Scott Janish (the IPA guy). Click on Sapwood Cellars’ co-founders to learn more about them.

The taproom is comfortable, the service is friendly and the beer is terrific.

I loved the Rings of Light Ring of Fire, a 4.8% pale ale with loads of Citra hops. I can’t wait to try all from Sapwood.
