Sapwort Ginger Tasting

Despite the chilly and wet weather, it was a terrific weekend: I’m can still drink beer (see The Beer Diet), the Ravens won and Sapwort Ginger (my latest homebrew) tastes good. 

Mrs. Adventures and I splurged on an amazing meal at the Portabellos in Kennett Square but I paid for it the next day. The scale showed a 1.5 lbs weight gain. This puts a real challenge on dropping a pound this week as prescribed by the beer diet. It is crucial that I meet my 1 pound loss by this Saturday because Sapwood Cellars is holding their grand opening on Saturday, September 29th from noon until 10 PM. It would be a tragedy to miss out on this special event.

My friend, John, and I spent Sunday afternoon watching the Ravens beat the Denver Broncos, yay! When things looked pretty good for the home team, we cracked open my latest beer creation — Sapwort Ginger. The wort was generously donated by Sapwood Cellars; I merely added yeast and ginger. I enjoyed the citrusy aroma and the pleasant blend of peppery ginger and bitter hops. I’m hoping time will fix the slight under-carbonation.
