Craft Beer Reads and 500 Posts

Yep, I have posted 500 blogs over the past 3 years. I guess I lost track, but WordPress reports this as post 506. To see number 500, click on Flavor. I’m drinking a Fosse’s Orange Chocolate Snout to celebrate.

The Business Journals, A new tap room – and ax-throwing facility – is coming to Columbia. I mentioned 2 axe throwing Columbia establishments in yesterday’s blog, but this is even more detail about Reckless’ axe pits.

Forbes, With ‘Perfect’ Beer In Mind, Authors Brew Unique Beers. It is great to see Sapwood Cellars make it into Forbes. I’ve never tried 3 Fonienen’s Oude Gueuze, but I’ll have to check it out.

Business Insider, These are the most popular breweries in every state. I’m not sure why, but I love these kind of articles. Flying Dog as the most popular brewery in Maryland? Probably not my favorite MD brewery, but this would be a great conversation starter.

Stoudts (press release). It is a sad day when these pioneers of craft beer close up shop. Carol and Ed Stoudt have been in the business for decades. Ed runs the restaurant (and gives a terrific brewery tour), while Carol makes the beer. Mrs. Adventures and I experienced Ed’s tour and were totally entertained by Ed’s stories of this historic brewery – he’s often referred to as the Willy Wonka of brewers.

Pipe The Side Brewing, Another new brewery. Their story is interesting and worth the read. This couple’s startup brewery just might make up for Stoudts closing.

Genus Brewing, The Best Glassware for Beer – No More Shaker Pints! Thanks to DBear for this gem! I couldn’t agree more. I use pint glasses as my water glasses. Tulip glasses are my preferred tasting glasses.

Travel and Leisure, This New Guinness Storehouse Tour Takes Beer Lovers Behind the Scenes Like Never Before. I’m headed to Ireland this summer. And this looks like fun. Can’t wait!!

Cheers!
