Miracle on 34th Street

Happy Christmas Eve! Lots of Christmas traditions going on here at the Adventure’s household including watching countless corny Christmas movies and eating too many cookies.

It’s been a few years but we got reacquainted with a Baltimore Christmas tradition. We drove up to 34th Street in Baltimore to see the decorations. After a few spins around the block we found a parking spot and strolled along the closed block of 34th Street in Hampden. The lights and decorations were spectacular and the crowd festive. We even walked past a Grinch-clad flugelhorn musician entertaining the happy flock of holiday onlookers.

Tonight, we plan on enjoying a Christmas Eve dinner with lobster tails. I’ve consulted my beer pairing bible, The Brewmaster’s Table by Garrett Oliver. He suggests enjoying a weissbier, witbier, pilsner, helles, or Irish stout with the lobster. Sadly, I just finished my last Manor Hill pilsner so I’ll just have a glass of white wine.

Merry Christmas!

  1. The Miracle on 34th Street was always a festive occasion. We have not been in years. This may be the inspiration we need to go back again.
