Victory Cage Radler at Frisco

Victory Pint Night at Frisco

Columbia, MD June 20, 2018

Preparing for summer, I have been sampling shandies and radlers. This Wednesday at Frisco Tap House‘s Victory Pint Night, I tried a Victory Cage Radler

The Cage Radler is a 3% ABV lemon soda radler. It is very sweet and light. I taste almost no actual beer but I could see having a few of these on a hot afternoon.

Besides summer looming, I’ve been inspired by Uproxx’s shandy/radler review. Cage Radler is not reviewed, but 2 recently sampled shandies, Schöfferhofer and Porch Rocker are on the list. So far Schöfferhofer is my favorite (I’m partial to grapefruit) but I find I do like this sweet, fruity style drink. I also like Sam Adam’s Porch Rocker, with its lemony tartness. The Cage Radler is a distant third, tasting more artificial than the other 2. The very low ABV is appealing, though. As I sample more of this style, I’ll let you know.

What’s the difference between a shandy and a radler? Not much. Shandy is English and radler is German. Both are beer mixed with lemonade or soda (like a 7 Up or Sprite).

Cheers!
