Columbia Festival of the Arts

Columbia, MD June 16, 2018

Mrs. Adventures and I joined some friends at the Columbia Lakefront yesterday for the 31st season of the Festival of the Arts.  There is music, art, performances, and a beer garden (of course). And it’s all free!

For music, we saw the lively and entertaining US Navy Band Cruisers plus the Australian, all-women folk group, All Our Exes Live in Texas. Afterward, we stayed for the eVenti Verticali: Wanted, where two Italian men performed aerial acrobatic stunts in front of a large video screen. We were both quite tired that late at night and did not truly appreciate this unique performance.

Also, there was the Clyde’s Howard on Tap Beer Festival. Featured were several Howard County breweries: Hysteria, Manor Hill, Black Flag, Reckless ( Frisco’s brewery), and Jailbreak. Also, in attendance were Denizens of Silver Spring and (Evo)ultion from Salisbury. Small samples were $3 each. I enjoyed PINE’HOP’LE, a pineapple IPA from Evo and Transmutation Synthwave, a sour blackberry from Black Flag.

It was a great evening, seeing friends and listening to music outside. Can’t wait for next year.

Cheers!Warren
