Devil's Alley

A Devil Disappoints

Philadelphia, PA June 9, 2018

For 6 years, we have kicked off the first day of our Philly Beer Week with a beer dinner at Devil’s Alley. Sadly, this year was different. We made the reservation for 8. The day before, John confirmed that we would be having the 3-course beer dinner. He even mentioned this would be our 7th year participating in the Devil’s Alley Philly Beer Week beer dinner. Oddly, when we arrived, the staff appeared to know nothing about the beer dinner and there was no mention of it on the menu.

As a group of 8 slightly buzzed folks, we were full of righteous indignation. We complained to the manager with no results. We even threatened to leave, but finding a seat for 8 on a Friday night in Philly seemed a hassle. So we stayed for dinner.

First, let me say that my disappointment in the lack of a beer dinner has jaded my judgement. That being said, I have witnessed the food and beer list steady decline. It was sticky and hot in the restaurant. And the bathrooms are a scary dungeon.

Needless to say, Devil’s Alley is off our list for future Philly trips.

Cheers!

Warren

    1. I’m sure your Trip Advisor review stings a whole lot more than a bad review on Warren’s Beer Adventures. Maybe they’ll get the message.
