Weekend Beer Reads

I’m in Lancaster, PA, sitting at the Spring House TapRoom. They are a brewery and make some fun beers! It reminds me of last year’s brewery tour of Lancaster. Snow is still on the ground, but the city has done a nice job of clearing the streets and sidewalks. Below are a few articles for you to read when you get a quiet moment. 

My next beer to brew will be a Saison. I have not picked out the recipe, but I’m thinking about a clone of the Saison Dupont. Here is Beer & Brewing Magazines take on What Makes a Saison a Saison?

You may have heard that AB InBev has started monopolizing the hop market. Well, here’s a solution — yeast that produces hop oils. Read Scientists figure out how to make an IPA  without hops. Apparently, this is big news, even the NY Times writes about making beer without hops.

Tired of winter? I know this latest springtime snow has me itching for warm weather. Here are The best beers to toast the end of summer. BTW, this is a great looking list – better get drinking.

Here is the million dollar question: What exactly is the difference between Stout and Porter? The bottom line, the difference is very blurred.

The oldest brewery in the nation, Yuengling, adds their first beer in 17 years.  Yuengling Traditional Amber Lager is a terrific, drinkable beer. Their Golden Pilsner is worth a look.

It’s official – ‘Hazy’ IPAs have been added to the Brewers Association Style Guidelines. It’s about time – I love these New England style IPAs.
