One of my favorites, Naptown Pint (aka Liz Murphy) interviews the Baltimore father of craft beer, Hugh Sisson, in this Capital Gazette article.

In the Maryland brewery world, one name keeps coming up – Kevin Blodger of Union brewing. Although Episode 047 of Uncapped Union Brewing Co. – Kevin Blodger is very long (1.5 hours of video), it is well worth your time. Learn about this accomplished brewer’s extensive brewing history as well as plans for the future of Union Brewing.

The granddaddy of beer festivals, the Great American Beer Festival, does not have a category for the popular New England-style IPA. Because of this omission, Trillion, Tired Hands, and even local Maryland versions like Monument City NoBo and Hysteria Trash Panda, do not have a place to enter their beer. Westworld talks about this issue in GABF Has a New England-Style IPA Problem, and It’s Not Going Away

I just enjoyed a visit to Maryland’s largest brewery, Flying Dog. Read about expansion plans for this great brewery in Flying Dog puts new Frederick brewery plans on ‘permanent hold,’ eyes distillery.

Cheers!
