Saturday Beer Reads

I’m hearing the loud buzz/whirr of some impatient locusts this afternoon. I call them impatient because these 17-year locusts only waited 14 years to bring their deafening noise with them. So, either close your windows or find some earplugs, and sip on your favorite beverage over a few fun beer reads.

To get in the mood for our annual Philly Beer Week trip, I found an article about chocolates and ice creams made with Philadelphia area beers; Franklin Fountain, Shane Confectionery create treats for Philly Beer Week.

With summer just around the corner, I found this beer and egg custard in a squash grill recipe intriguing.

I saw some striking Monument City Brewing Company cans sitting on the shelf at Ronnie’s in Bel Air, MD. In Monument City Brewing Company Beer Shows off the Brewery’s Baltimore Roots, the story of those noticeable cans is told.

I’m still reeling over the Wicked Weed purchase by AB InBev. Whether you agree with Kate Taylor or not, every craft beer lover should drink smartly. Her article, Craft Brewers are calling for the boycott of these 14 ‘imposter’ beer brands, gives craft beer drinkers something to think about.

I haven’t tried any of these 11 fabulous summery craft beers, but the Buxton/Stillwater beer looks intriguing. Let me know if you have a chance to try any of these.

Cheers!
