Saturday Musings

Happy Saturday! You deserve a break after a long week. I found a few interesting articles for you. So, take a break, relax and catch up on what’s happening in the beer world.

Meredith Heil offers a few suggestions in Tasting Table about beers for wine enthusiasts. I’m not so sure about the third suggestion – west coast IPAs for Sauvignon Blanc, but the rest I think are spot on. What do you think?

For me, there is something wonderful about a well-poured beer with a beautiful head. Justin Kennedy asks, “Does Foam Really Matter” in this food52 article.

The Pint Night crew just experienced a great Ommegang night. Beer Pulse offers a press release about the interesting and delightful Ommegang Pale Sour that several of us enjoyed that night.

I really enjoyed a hop-free beer – Posca Rustica. Learn more about these gruit ales.

Finally, a few political beer articles. One is a local article about HB 1283, the other from our Canadian neighbors who want to “Make Beer Great Again.”

Have a great weekend!

Cheers!

Saturday Musings

Well, it’s been another interesting week in the craft beer world. So, find a cozy spot, pour yourself a beer and read these little nuggets of wisdom.

The Atlanta Braves celebrate their new stadium with a beer made with baseball bats. On this Earth Day, read about the reuse of wood shaving to make this unusual IPA, Terrapin’s Chopsecutioner.

Just like every hobby, being a craft beer enthusiast can come with lots of stuff. If you are feeling empty inside and want to purchase your way out of that situation, here are 10 beer things to own.

The craft beer revolution just keeps going. Russell Goldenberg of pudding.cool talks about the state of microbrewing in America. Also, please note, my hometown of Columbia, MD is even mentioned in this nation-wide craft beer discussion.

Apparently, the state of Virginia has been capitalizing on Maryland’s shortsighted legislation. Read Liz Murphy’s  Naptown Pint article about Virginia welcoming Maryland brewers.

Cheers!
