3 Lions Ale & Okra

Restaurant Week at the Ale House Columbia

3 Lions Ale & Okra
3 Lions Ale & Okra

It’s a cold winter day in Maryland. It has been snowing off and on all day. Time for some comfort food and a beer. The Ale House Columbia offers a 3-course meal for Howard County Restaurant WeekMost of us chose the build your own burger, but I had other plans. My selection was “3”,  the 3-course special and a 3 Lions Ale by Oliver Brewing Company, one of their own beers. For $20.00, the dinner was pretty amazing. The short ribs went well with the 3 Lions Ale, a hearty strong ale with caramel sweetness and a piney hop finish. Here is the delicious meal, so filling that I couldn’t finish:

  • First Course: Appetizer: Fried Pickled Okra with spicy Cajun remoulade
  • Second Course: Slow Braised Short Rib: Fried Brussels, Yukon potatoes, red wine reduction
  • Third Course: Pineapple Rum Cake: Grilled pineapple, rum-soaked pound cake, vanilla ice cream, toasted coconut

BTW, this is my second time enjoying the Columbia Ale House since this blog started. The Ale House was part of the First Columbia Pub Crawl.

Cheers!
